Sikkim seeks Glaciology centre to tackle glacial lake outburst induced floods
The Department of Science and Technology in Sikkim held a crucial meeting to discuss the issue of Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs). Emphasis was placed on the need for a Regional Centre for Glaciology to study and mitigate such threats.
