'Sinicisation' of Islam 'inevitable', says top Chinese official in Xinjiang
The top Communist Party official in Muslim-dominated Xinjiang province said "Sinicisation of Islam was inevitable". Ma Xingrui's remarks come six months after Xi Jingping asked officials to promote "Sinicisation of Islam" during a visit to Xinjiang.
