Brahmins form 12% of the population of Uttar Pradesh and are a key voter bloc. The Samajwadi Party's focus on PDA (Pichda, Dalit and Alpasankhyak) and comments on Ramcharitmanas have seen Upper Caste leaders distance themselves from Akhilesh Yadav's party. Will it hurt the party in the 2024 polls?
