Sen. John Cornyn declares candidacy for Republican leader after McConnell steps down
Texas Senator John Cornyn on Thursday became the first Republican senator to declare a bid to succeed outgoing Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., as the head of the GOP conference.
